BAGUIO CITY May 03 – Still unidentified burglars killed a security guard and carted away over P520,000 in cash from the office of the Baguio Market Plaza Entrepreneurs Multipurpose Cooperative and the guard’s service firearm located within the public market here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Robert Cabotutan Oficiar, 27 years old, single, and a resident of St. Remedious Apartment, T. Alonzo Street, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the robbers allegedly broke the glass door of the cooperative, stabbed the security guard to death, destroyed the closed circuit television cameras installed in the area and robbed the cooperative with the P520,000 in cash that was placed inside the establishment as well as the security guards calibre .38 revolver with five live ammunitions.
The burglars allegedly locked the cooperative’s main door that allowed the employees to have a difficult time entering the establishment.
The gathered pieces of evidence were brought to the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO headquarters for the conduct of forensic examination while probers are scouting other CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the cooperative to ascertain the identity of the suspects who perpetrated the crime.
