TUBA, Benguet July 17 – A 48-year old scope tram operator died after he was pindown by big bog boulders of rocks that collapsed in his work place inside a mine tunnel at Padcal, here, Sunday morning.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Abelardo Binwag, 48, a scope tram operator and a resident of Camp 3, Padcal Tuba, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was doing his daily routine when a portion of the tunnel he was working allegedly collapsed and big boulders of rocks pinned him down on the ground.
The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
The case is still subject to further investigation by elements of the Tuba Municipal Police Station.
