HINGYON, Ifugao – A 58-year old farmer died after he was repeatedly shot to death by a gun-wielding suspect while he was walking towards their residence at Liangkukan, Piwong, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Rudy Bilbilion Backid, 58, farmer, and a resident of Sitio Nunggawa, Namuldtan, Hingyon, Ifugao while the suspect was named as Jose Ballogan, a neighbor of the victim.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was waiting for a ride bound for Hingyon when the suspect followed him at his back, pulled out a .38 revolver tacked in his waist and fired at the former four times hitting him in the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police authorities.
