BANGUED, Abra – A 6-year old boy was hurt after he was hit by a stray bullet which also damaged the roof of their residence at Ubbog, Lipcan here around 9:50 pm Monday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, said that Ruby Calayoan Bustarga, 28, married, and a resident of barangay Ubbog-Lipcan, Bangued, Abra reported to elements of the Bangued Municipal Police Station that her son was accidentally hit by a stray bullet that also damaged the roof of their house.
She narrated to probers that she herd her 6-year old son crying and shen she checked on him, she saw that there was a contusion on his left elbow.
According to her, prior to her son crying, she heard a loud explosion that could have happened nearby with a thing falling on their roof.
When she checked on what happened, she saw a hole on their roof and ceiling and then she was able to recover a fired slug of a calibre .45 pistol near their bed.
She immediately rushed her son to the Abra provincial Hospital for medical treatment while probers are looking into the piece of evidence that was submitted to them.
