PUDTOL, Apayao – A 23-year old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman and a 26-year old student were injured after they were allegedly stabbed by a knife-wielding suspect while they were attending a wedding celebration at Amado here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the injured individuals as MC Kevin Afaga Lacar, 23, single, SK Chairman and Archer James Castillo, 26, single, student both residents of Barangay San Antonio, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed that the SK chairman was leaning on a stainless jeepney that was parked on the side of the road while taking a rest when he was approached by a still unidentified male individual who confronted him that resulted to a heated altercation between the two.
After a few moments, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim on his abdomen before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
While passing by the other victim who was simply standing on the side of the road, the suspect stabbed him on his a chest before leaving the crime scene.
The victims were rushed by concerned residents to the Ama Jadsak Memorial Hospital for medical treatment but they were eventually transferred to the Far North General Hospital and Training Center for further treatment of the stab wounds that they sustained.
The SK chairman sustained a deep stab wound on his abdomen while his companion sustained a lone stab wound on his left chest.
